DMK's Arun Nehru Vows Railway Development for Perambalur

DMK candidate in Perambalur Lok Sabha constituency, K N Arun Nehru, son of municipal administration minister K N Nehru, has pledged to work vigorously for the development of railway infrastructure and connectivity in the region.

Speaking to a crowd of party functionaries and cadres at the entry point to Trichy city in Samayapuram on Thursday, Arun expressed his commitment to addressing the longstanding demand for improved rail services in the constituency.

"I have both the opportunity and responsibility in contesting in Perambalur as the general election is crucial to safeguard people?s rights and ensure the state gets all resources," he remarked, highlighting the significance of the upcoming election.

Despite holding only primary membership in the party, Arun expressed gratitude towards the chief minister for entrusting him with the candidacy. He emphasized that promises tailored to each assembly constituency within Perambalur would be unveiled, focusing particularly on healthcare and job creation.

Arun disclosed that he has already initiated efforts to advocate for Perambalur's demand for rail connectivity with the railway ministry. "Railways says the population is low. We will work with the next government at the Centre on this. My first task is to bring the railway station," he declared, underscoring his determination to address the issue.

His arrival was met with fervent enthusiasm from party cadres, who even arranged for an elephant to welcome their candidate. Arun was warmly received, flanked by DMK district secretaries, symbolizing the party's united support behind his candidacy.
