Jammu Division Records Highest Punctuality of 94.12%

The Jammu Division of Northern Railway (Jammu Division) set a new benchmark in operational efficiency when it achieved a single-day punctuality rate of 94.12 per cent for Mail and Express trains on July 31. This performance is the highest recorded in the division's history and surpasses the previous best of 92.59 per cent achieved on February 20, 2025. The official communique indicated that the figure represents a significant improvement in on-time arrivals and departures across the network.

Railway officials attributed the outcome to meticulous planning and effective coordination between ground staff and management teams, asserting that precise scheduling and sustained supervisory focus were central to the result. The record was achieved amid extensive infrastructure modernisation and while multiple major traffic and maintenance blocks were in place, demonstrating the ability to maintain service standards under constrained conditions. The release described the achievement as the product of round-the-clock effort and detailed operational control.

The Control Office functioned as the operational nerve centre, orchestrating train movements and managing contingency responses to maintain schedule adherence. Complex technical tasks and maintenance activities were staged to minimise impact on passenger services, while resource allocation and real-time communication were used to address emergent issues. The coordinated approach was said to have minimised delays and ensured continuity of travel across key routes.

Looking ahead, the Jammu Division intends to sustain the momentum by leveraging advanced technology and continuing capacity building among staff to preserve safety and reliability for passengers. Officials signalled ongoing commitments to refine planning processes and adopt systems that support resilient operations, with the aim of providing efficient travel for millions of passengers arriving from across the nation. The division will continue to monitor performance metrics and adapt practices to uphold high standards.
