Mumbai Metro One Receives Four Integrated ISO Certifications

Mumbai Metro One has received four ISO certifications covering operational management and information security, adding to its record as a major public transport provider in Mumbai. The certifications were issued on September 26, 2026, to Mumbai Metro One, which operates the city’s Metro Line 1.

The company said the certifications represent an integrated approach combining the Integrated Management System (IMS) and Information Security Management System (ISMS). It has described the achievement as a first in India for the combined certification framework, although the announcement did not provide details of the certifying body or the specific standards covered.

The certifications are intended to support more structured operational and administrative processes. They are also expected to strengthen the company’s approach to managing operational risks and protecting important information. By aligning its procedures with internationally recognised standards, Mumbai Metro One aims to improve consistency across its work and information-handling practices.

Separately, Chennai Metro has announced the fares for its Yellow Line ahead of the route’s planned start on October 11, 2026. The line will connect Poonamallee with Vadapalani, with fares ranging from Rs. 10 to Rs. 40 depending on the distance travelled.

A journey from Poonamallee to Poonamallee Bus Stand will cost Rs. 10. Fares for travel to Poonamallee Government Hospital, Karayanchavadi, Kumananchavadi and Kattupakkam have been set at Rs. 20, while trips to Ayyappanthangal, Thelliyagaram, Porur Bypass Road and Porur Junction will cost Rs. 30. The full journey between Poonamallee and Vadapalani will carry a fare of Rs. 40.
