Nine Metro 3 trains to be launched by June

The executing authority for the underground Metro 3 corridor (Colaba-Bandra-Seepz) has set a June 2023 deadline for bringing all nine rakes required to begin Phase I services (Aarey-BKC). This July, the first rake arrived in Mumbai for trials from Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.

The first prototype train is currently undergoing "initial design-proving" testing by Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL). Ashwini Bhide, managing director of MMRCL, stated that a second rake will arrive by the end of November. The first nine trains needed for Phase I commissioning would arrive by June 23, with the remaining arriving by May 2024. MMRCL has placed orders with Alstom for 31 rakes.

DMR Engineering Reports FY 25-26 Financial Results

DMR Engineering reported its half year results for the financial year ended 31 March 2026 and published full year figures on a standalone basis.
