PM Modi flags redevelopment of railway stations in TN

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones for redeveloping five railway stations in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai Egmore, Rameswaram, Madurai, Katpadi, and Kanyakumari.

The expected cost of the redevelopment project is over Rs 1,800 crore. The project has been undertaken to enhance the convenience and comfort of the passengers travelling through modern amenities.

PM Modi will also inaugurate 1,152 houses constructed under the Light House Project in Chennai and built at Rs 116 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban.

PM Modi will dedicate to the country and lay the foundation stone for 11 projects in Chennai worth over Rs 31,500 crore.

The 75 km long Madurai-Teni of the Railway Gauge Conversion Project, built at over Rs 500 crore, will boost tourism in the region and the 30 km long third railway line between Tambaram-Chengalpattu, built at over Rs 590 crore, will boost suburban connection.
