Rahee Wins Patna Metro Priority Corridor Track Work Contract PT-09

Rahee Infratech Ltd. has secured the track-work contract PT-09 for Patna Metro Phase 1's Priority Corridor, awarded by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). In addition to winning the track work for Nagpur Metro Phase 2, Rahee was declared the lowest bidder for installing ballastless standard gauge tracks on the 6.107 km-long Priority Corridor on Line-2, which connects Malahi Pakri to New ISBT, passing through five elevated stations. This corridor will be the first to open in the Patna Metro project. The civil construction contract for this section, under Package PC-01, was awarded to NCC Ltd. in September 2020, with a 30-month deadline for completion. DMRC invited bids for the track work in November 2024, with an estimated cost of Rs 248.9 million and a 180-day completion timeline. Financial bids were opened in December, with five bidders. Among them, Pee Pee Mandal Projects was disqualified due to technical non-compliance. Financial bid values: • Rahee Infratech: Rs 239.7 million • Texmaco Rail and Engineering: Rs 258.2 million • Paras Railtech Pvt. Ltd.: Rs 269.2 million • Apurvakriti Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd.: Rs 285.2 million Rahee Infratech's bid of Rs 239.7 million was 3.67% below the DMRC's estimate, and a letter of award (LOA) is expected to be issued in the coming weeks, possibly as early as next week. This contract is the fourth track-related package for Patna Metro Phase 1. Below is the status of the other packages: Track-related packages for Patna Metro Phase 1: • PT-4R: Design, manufacturing, and supply of UIC-60 turnouts & scissor crossover – Awarded to Voestalpine VAE VKN India • PT-8R: Standard gauge track work (Ballasted, Embedded, and Column lines) at New ISBT Depot – Awarded to S.C. Agarwal • PT-09: Ballastless track including supply of buffer stop and other components for Priority Corridor – Awarded to Rahee Infratech However, the project faces delays due to pending tenders for Patna Metro's rolling stock and signalling contract, which is financed by JICA. As a result, the commencement of commercial operations is unlikely before 2027 unless DMRC secures trains from Delhi Metro or leases them temporarily.
