RailTel Secures Rs 138.41 mn Order for School Computer Labs

RailTel Corporation of India has secured a domestic work order from the Directorate of Education, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi to set up computer laboratories and supply laptops in government schools across the capital. The company disclosed that the contract was received on 29 April 2026 and has a total value of Rs 138.41 million (Rs 138.41 mn), including taxes. The project is scheduled for execution by 29 April 2031.

The scope of work covers supply, installation and commissioning of equipment required to establish the laboratories, together with comprehensive maintenance and support. The contract specifically includes five years of maintenance support to ensure operational reliability and service continuity. The company said the disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements, 2015.

RailTel clarified that the contract is a domestic award and does not constitute a related party transaction, and that neither its promoter nor the promoter group has any interest in the awarding entity. The order is intended to bolster the company's footprint in the education and digital infrastructure segment. The project aligns with government efforts to promote technology enabled learning in public schools.

The initiative is expected to improve access to digital resources for students and support modernisation of classroom infrastructure across the national capital. Five years of maintenance support is intended to provide continuity of service and reduce downtime of equipment. The company indicated that the work will strengthen its role in delivering connectivity and digital solutions to public institutions.

RailTel will implement the project according to the agreed timeline, coordinating with local education authorities and vendors to meet procurement and installation milestones.
