State Finance Minister urges BJP for metro rail approval

In a significant stride towards preparing for the launch of Phase-IV corridors of the Delhi Metro, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) unveiled its advanced integrated Operation Control Centre (OCC) at Metro Bhawan, the corporation's headquarters.

The state-of-the-art OCC, inaugurated by Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC, in the presence of other senior officials, signifies a pivotal advancement in metro operations management.

The OCC offers comprehensive remote monitoring and control capabilities for the entire Metro system, including rolling stock, stations, signals, and tracks, along with concourse and platform level surveillance. This ensures continuous monitoring of both passengers and system operations from the OCC.

Situated on the 3rd Floor of Metro Bhawan, the new OCC will not only oversee the operations of the existing Red Line (Line-1: Rithala to Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda) and Yellow Line (Line-2: SamaypurBadli to Millennium City Centre Gurugram) networks but will also manage train movements on the upcoming corridors of Phase IV, such as Delhi Aerocity to Tughlakabad, Rithala - Bawana-Narela-Kundli, and Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block, upon their public launch.

This infrastructure development addresses the need for a centralized control room to manage the forthcoming new corridors under Phase-4 effectively.

Previously, OCC for the Red and Yellow Lines operated from Shastri Park Metro station, while OCCs for other operational Lines were situated on the 4th and 6th floors of Metro Bhawan. However, with the inauguration of this new OCC, the entire DMRC network will now be centrally controlled from DMRC's headquarters at Metro Bhawan, facilitating integrated management and streamlined operations.
