The new terminal building of the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport is likely to be ready by mid-2024. The new world-class terminal building, with a built-up area of 65,155 sq m, will have the capacity to handle 3,000 passengers during peak hours. Work on the new terminal building, being built with an expenditure of `12.16 billion, had begun in October 2018 and it is expected to be ready by May next year and to be commissioned by August, after acquiring the required approvals. The ground floor of the G+1 building is dedicated to arrivals while the departure area on the first floor will be connected with a flyover.
