Pvt firms may build Coal India rail links connecting mines

The government is likely to allow private firms to build and operate critical railway lines connecting Coal India mines to power, steel and cement projects and will allow private companies to charge fee from the users of the rail links, similar to the toll charged by highway developers. The coal ministry has identified 51 new railway lines to connect blocks of various Coal India subsidiaries.
