The Rs 14.82 billion, 10.7 km EPC project includes a 9.43 km tunnel—India’s third longest—and aims to enhance cargo access from nearby states. Konkan Railway submitted the draft; contracts may be awarded by November. Reportedly, the line will boost Vizhinjam’s cargo potential.
