Rs.1,120 cr Smart City estimate for Tirunelveli

The state government has propsed a Rs 1,120 crore estimate for developing Tirunelveli as a smart city. The projects include installation of 4,500 surveillance cameras at 1,500 locations in Tirunelveli. Under ´Golden Hour´ and ´Area Based Development´ of the Smart Cities mission, latest technology based infrastructure developments will be implemented at Nellaiyappar temple and Nainarkulam tank. A theme park would be set up at Nainarkulam.
