Baramulla MoU with NHPC for Health and Waste Management

In a significant step towards enhancing public health and waste management, the District Administration Baramulla has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NHPC. The agreement entails a financial commitment of ?21.3 million, including ?16.8 million allocated for healthcare and ?4.5 million for waste management in the district.

The healthcare funding will be utilized to conduct approximately 900,000 anemia tests across the district, significantly bolstering the district?s health services. This initiative aims to address critical health issues, particularly anemia, which is prevalent in the region.

The ?4.5 million allocated for waste management will be directed towards improving waste management practices, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for the residents of Baramulla.

During the signing ceremony, DC Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, underscored the transformative potential of the MoU. He stated, "This agreement represents a significant step forward in enhancing our district?s healthcare infrastructure and waste management system by tackling critical health issues and ensuring a cleaner environment."

Moreover, he highlighted that the MoU will play an important role in achieving the ?Anemia Mukt Bharat? goals while also advancing initiatives in effective waste management.

Representatives from NHPC present at the ceremony expressed their commitment to further collaborations with the District Administration Baramulla. They emphasized that this MoU is just the beginning and NHPC is open to more partnerships aimed at fostering development in the region. The representatives also highlighted their dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and their willingness to invest in initiatives that benefit the community, particularly in healthcare, nutrition, and infrastructure improvements.
