UltraTech Cement to buy Adhunik MSP Cement's plant

UltraTech Cement is planning to buy north-eastern cement maker Adhunik MSP Cement’s plant in Meghalaya for over Rs 700 crore.

The acquisition of this 1.5 mn tonne unit will bolster UltraTech’s presence in the north-east, which is a fast growing, but largely untapped, market. The plant was set up by a JV company promoted by Adhunik and MSP group in 2010 at a Rs 700 crore.
