JSW Cement Launches India’s First Turbo Gel-Based Water-Repellent Cement

JSW Cement, one of India’s leading green cement manufacturers and part of the diversified JSW Group, has launched CHD Waterguard—a super-premium, water-repellent cement engineered to withstand high-moisture conditions in South India’s tropical climate.

Powered by Turbo Gel Technology, CHD Waterguard is designed to deliver strength, durability, and moisture resistance through a single formulation. The product addresses common regional concerns such as humidity, coastal salt air, and monsoon-induced concrete degradation.

Announcing the launch, Nilesh Narwekar, Chief Executive Officer, JSW Cement, said, “The tropical climate of Southern India, with its intense humidity, coastal salt air, and heavy monsoons that compromise the longevity of concrete structures. With CHD Waterguard, we're offering a specialised solution that actively protects homes from seepage, dampness, salt corrosion, and moisture-related damage.”

As a water-repellent cement, CHD Waterguard prevents seepage and dampness, ensuring homes remain dry and damage-free. Its corrosion-resistant properties shield rebars from rust, thereby enhancing structural integrity. The Turbo Gel formulation enables a polymer-enriched hydration matrix, improving both workability and compressive strength. These features contribute to reduced maintenance, better surface finish, and a longer lifespan of built structures.

“This is not just cement. It's protection for your dream home. With CHD Waterguard, we are not only raising the performance bar but also redefining how cement is perceived—less as a commodity and more as a performance-driven solution,” said Mr Hitendra Jariwala, Chief Marketing Officer, JSW Cement.

Developed using slag-based cement—a key strength of JSW Cement—CHD Waterguard also supports sustainable construction. It is positioned as an ideal solution for individual home builders (IHBs), contractors, and civil engineers operating in coastal and high-moisture zones.

To support the launch, JSW Cement will roll out on-ground demonstrations, engineer meets, mason training programmes, and influencer loyalty initiatives, allowing stakeholders to experience the product’s superior performance firsthand.
