Ramco Cements bags Excellent Corporate Governance Award

Ramco Cements has bagged the award for Excellent Corporate Governance and its Ariyalur unit has won a gold medal in the Indian Green Manufacturing Challenge, which is organised by International Research Institute for Manufacturing.

The firm’s Ariyalur unit is the only unit in south India to receive a gold medial with the green manufacturing barometer score of 691.7 on a scale of 200 to 800. That said, its units at RR Nagar, Jayanthipuram and Alathiyur have won silver awards with a score of 667.3, 662.5 and 656.4, respectively.

Out of the 300 applications received, only 58 units were selected for assessment, of which 30 awards – 17 silver awards, six gold medal and seven special awards – were given. The awards were presented by A Vellayan, Former Executive Chairman, Murugappa Group, and Mylswamy Annadurai, Indian Scientist and Former Director, ISRO in Chennai.
