Titagarh Rail Systems Secures Rs 2,263.5 Million Wagon Order

Titagarh Rail Systems announced that it has received a letter of intent worth Rs 2,263.5 million (Rs 2,263.5 mn) from JSW Port Logistics for the manufacture and supply of 720 wagons. The order requires production of wagons according to mutually agreed technical specifications and the contract is expected to be executed within six months from the commencement of work, subject to final purchase order and agreement. The company stated that neither its promoters nor group entities have any interest in the awarding authority, confirming the deal does not constitute a related party transaction.

Titagarh Rail Systems is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of freight wagons, passenger coaches, metro trains, train electricals, steel castings, specialised equipment and bridges, and ships. The company serves domestic and export markets and caters to infrastructure and rolling stock requirements. The order from JSW Port Logistics aligns with its focus on freight wagon production.

The company's consolidated net profit fell by 23.48 per cent to Rs 480.3 mn in the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, compared with Rs 627.7 mn in the year-ago quarter. Revenue from operations decreased by 7.8 per cent year on year to Rs 8,320.6 mn in the quarter ended 31 December 2025. Management said the operational focus remains on order execution and supply chain management while pursuing new contracts.

The scrip declined by 1.24 per cent to Rs 588.70 on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The company will proceed to convert the LOI into a final purchase order before commencing manufacturing. Investors will watch order flows and quarterly performance for signs of recovery. Analysts will assess delivery timelines and cost implications for profit margins.
