Top oil giants evince interest for TAPI project

International oil majors like Chevron, ExxonMobil and Gazprom plan to be a part of the consortium that will construct the TAPI (Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline) Project.GAIL (India) may take a small equity participation in this consortium. The companies involved in the project will be chosen jointly by member countries, which include Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, in consultation with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) by 2013.
