NBBPL to set up unit in AP

The Andhra Pradesh Government has granted permission for the allotment of 753 acre in Chittoor District for setting up a power equipment manufacturing base to the joint venture company, NTPC-BHEL Power Projects Ltd (NBPPL). The Chittoor District Collectorate has cleared the allotment in favour of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (APIIC), for a nominal value of Rs 100 per acre. NBPPL will set up a greenfield manufacturing capacity at an outlay of Rs 6,000 crore over five years. At 100 per cent capacity utilisation the plant is expected to annually produce power equipment worth 5,000 MW.
