Adani Power Subsidiary Receives LoA To Supply 558 MW To Tamil Nadu

An Adani Power subsidiary has received a letter of award to supply power to the state of Tamil Nadu for five years. The company confirmed that the award covers the provision of electricity under a long term arrangement and will involve grid deliveries to the state distribution network. The award follows procurement processes conducted by Tamil Nadu's authorities and aligns with standard competitive allocation practices.

The contract calls for the supply of 558 megawatts (MW) of power, with the capacity to support industrial and residential demand across the state. The five year term is intended to provide a steady source of energy and to contribute to planning certainty for the state electricity system. The capacity will be integrated into the state supply mix and dispatched according to system operator requirements.

Company executives indicated that the arrangement is expected to strengthen availability of baseload and flexible generation for Tamil Nadu, supporting efforts to balance seasonal demand variations. The supply is likely to assist in managing peak periods and reducing reliance on short term purchases from the market. Operational coordination with the state grid operator will determine dispatch schedules and ancillary support as required.

The award is anticipated to have positive implications for the subsidiary's operational portfolio and revenue visibility over the contracted term. Stakeholders noted that long duration supply agreements can improve predictability for both generators and procurers while facilitating longer term planning of network operations. Market analysts said that multi year supply arrangements can reduce price volatility for buyers and support orderly investment planning for generators. The subsidiary will report details in its upcoming regulatory filings and investor communications as applicable.
