BMW India targets 30% EV sales share before 2030

Luxury carmaker BMW India expects electric vehicles to contribute around 30 per cent of its total sales before 2030, driven by strong demand, new product launches, and the growing shift towards sustainable mobility, according to, Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO.

Currently, BMW’s electric vehicle portfolio accounts for about 21 per cent of its total sales in India. Brar stated that the company aims to introduce electric variants across every segment it operates in, reflecting its long-term commitment to decarbonisation and premium green mobility.

Between January and September 2025, BMW Group India retailed 2,509 electric BMW and MINI models, marking a 246 per cent year-on-year growth. The company expects this momentum to accelerate as infrastructure for electric vehicles improves and consumer preference for luxury EVs strengthens across the country.
