CleanMax Commissions 185 MW Hybrid Renewable Project in Gujarat

CLEANMAX has commissioned 185 megawatt (MW) hybrid renewable energy project at Kalavad in Gujarat, the company announced. The project adds to CleanMax's operating portfolio and was brought online to supply clean power to customers in western India. The commissioning followed completion of construction and grid interconnection works and marks a milestone for the developer in the state. The facility will feed renewable energy into the regional grid to bolster supply reliability during peak demand periods.

The hybrid configuration integrates more than one renewable source to improve utilisation and support grid stability. By combining complementary generation profiles the project is expected to deliver a steadier output across seasons and reduce variability for off-takers. The setup is intended to make renewable supply more dependable for corporate and institutional customers. Operational synergies are expected to improve capacity utilisation and reduce integration costs for grid operators.

The project is expected to contribute to local economic activity and strengthen the regional clean energy supply chain. The developer indicated that the development aligns with its strategy to expand renewable capacity and provide decarbonisation solutions to commercial and industrial clients. Such projects are being pursued to help meet corporate renewable purchase commitments and national clean energy objectives. The development engaged local contractors and suppliers during construction, supporting regional jobs and services.

Gujarat has been a focal point for renewable deployment owing to favourable resource availability and grid infrastructure, and the new project is likely to reinforce the state's status as a clean energy hub. The commissioning demonstrates ongoing investor confidence and the maturing of hybrid project models in India. CLEANMAX indicated that it will continue to pursue similar projects to support customer decarbonisation and scale up its operational portfolio. The developer said hybrid models are likely to form a growing share of its future project pipeline as demand for flexible renewable supply rises.
