INOXAP Commissions UHP Liquid Oxygen Plant in Hosur

INOX Air Products has commissioned its first Ultra-High Purity (UHP) Liquid Oxygen facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, marking a step towards strengthening India’s semiconductor and solar manufacturing ecosystem.

The plant produces 6N grade (99.9999 per cent purity) liquid oxygen, with a capacity of 17 tonnes per day (500 Nm³/hr), catering to high-precision requirements in electronics and photovoltaic manufacturing. Its location in Hosur enables efficient supply to emerging high-technology clusters in South India.

The development supports the indigenisation of UHP liquid oxygen, which was previously imported to meet domestic demand. By enabling local production, the facility is expected to reduce dependence on imports, minimise supply disruptions and improve production continuity for manufacturers.

Commenting on the milestone, Siddharth Jain said, “The commissioning of this facility is a step towards building domestic capabilities for future industries, while strengthening India’s semiconductor and solar ecosystem.”

The facility enhances India’s capability in high-purity gases, supporting the growth of advanced manufacturing sectors and aligning with the country’s focus on technological self-reliance.
