KP Group, AHES & GH2 to Set Up Green Ammonia Facility

KP Group has entered into a strategic partnership with South Korea’s AHES Co Ltd and GH2 Solar Ltd to develop and operate a green ammonia production facility in India with a capacity of 100,000 metric tonnes per annum (TPA).
The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by KPI Green Hydrogen & Ammonia Pvt Ltd (KPI GH)—a KP Group company—alongside AHES and GH2 Solar Ltd, according to a company statement issued on Wednesday.

Key Project Highlights
  • Production capacity: 100,000 TPA of green ammonia
  • Offtake agreements: AHES and GH2 will arrange offtake; AHES will also act as a direct offtaker
  • Pricing model: Indexed to international ammonia benchmarks
  • Partnership duration: 15-year strategic collaboration
  • Target markets: South Korea, Japan, and other international regions
Operational and Strategic Roles
The green ammonia facility will be developed and operated by KPI GH, with technical and strategic support from AHES and GH2. This includes facilitating export arrangements and ensuring competitiveness in the global green ammonia market.
The production process will be powered by renewable energy sourced from KP Group’s infrastructure, including KPI Green Energy Ltd, KP Energy Ltd, and KP Green Engineering Ltd. This integrated model ensures low-carbon, sustainable feedstock, aligning with international decarbonisation goals.

Leadership Commentary
Faruk Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group, said:
“This partnership exemplifies KP Group’s vision to lead clean energy innovation in India and abroad. With KPI GH managing operations and support from AHES and GH2, we are setting new benchmarks in green ammonia production and global collaboration.”

Clean Energy Milestone
The venture reinforces KP Group’s longstanding position in the renewable energy sector, backed by over 30 years of experience, an installed capacity exceeding 1.9 GW, and an additional 3.9 GW under development. This project is expected to bolster India's ambitions in green hydrogen and ammonia exports, as part of its broader energy transition roadmap.
