NTPC REL Invites Bids for 900 MW Solar Project in Andhra

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has invited online bids through domestic competitive bidding for a 900 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected, ground-mounted solar photovoltaic project near the Kurnool Solar Project in Andhra Pradesh. The integrated contract covers land arrangement, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), as well as installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance.

The selected contractor will identify and acquire suitable land for the solar plant and its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The land must be transferred completely to NTPC REL and remain free from encumbrances. The contractor will also be responsible for the complete design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the facility.

The scope includes development of the associated power evacuation infrastructure required to connect the plant to the transmission network. The successful bidder must provide operation and maintenance services for three years after commissioning. The package is intended to support additional solar generation in Andhra Pradesh and strengthen the evacuation of renewable electricity through the interstate grid.

The transmission works include a new 400 kV terminal line bay and a dedicated 400 kV transmission line to the NTPC REL Kurnool Solar Project pooling substation (PSS) switchyard. The project also includes telemetry systems and dynamic reactive power compensation equipment to support grid connectivity, monitoring and reliable plant integration.

The invitation for bids was issued on October 16, 2026, with tender documents available until October 26 at 3:00 PM Indian Standard Time. The pre-bid conference and final date for queries are scheduled for October 27 at 11:00 AM, while bids must be submitted by November 16 at 3:00 PM. Techno-commercial bids will be opened at 3:30 PM the same day, with price-bid opening and the reverse auction scheduled separately.

NTPC REL has set bid security at Rs. 500 mn and will reject bids without acceptable security. The tender document carries no fee. Bidders must register on the ETS portal, submit a signed non-disclosure agreement and use Tender Search Code NTPCREL-2026-TN000033. They must also demonstrate average annual turnover of at least Rs. 5.9 bn over the previous three financial years and net worth equal to at least 100 per cent of paid-up share capital.
