NTPC REL Invites Bids for 600 MW Solar Projects in Maharashtra

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has invited bids for an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) package covering up to 600 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected, ground-mounted solar photovoltaic projects near its Dhule Solar Project in Maharashtra. The proposed capacity is split into two blocks of 300 MW each, and bidders may participate for one or both blocks. The tender includes land acquisition and development alongside project construction.

The selected contractor will identify, acquire and transfer ownership or lease of suitable land to NTPC REL. The land must be free of encumbrances and include space for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The EPC scope covers design, engineering, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the solar plants, as well as associated power evacuation infrastructure.

The package requires the contractor to develop a dedicated 220 kV transmission line and construct new terminal line bays at the pooling substation (PSS) of NTPC REL’s Dhule Solar Project. It also includes performance testing to demonstrate guaranteed power generation, mandatory spare parts and comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the plant and switchyard. O&M services will continue for three years from commissioning.

NTPC REL issued the Invitation for Bids (IFB) on 16 October 2026. Bidding documents can be downloaded until 26 October 2026 at 17:00 hours IST, while the pre-bid conference and final date for queries are scheduled for 28 October. Techno-commercial and price bids must be submitted by 13 November 2026 at 15:00 hours IST, with opening scheduled for 15:30 hours the same day.

The tender requires an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs. 200 mn for bids covering either one 300 MW block or both blocks. The bidding document fee is nil, but bidders must upload a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) on the ETS portal before the download period closes to obtain access to official documents. Bank guarantees must be submitted electronically through National e-Governance Services (NeSL); physical guarantees will not be accepted. The tender also provides for future energy storage integration through the land and infrastructure requirements.
