NTPC REL Invites Bids for 1,200 MW Solar EPC Projects

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has invited online bids for up to 1,200 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Andhra Pradesh. Issued under domestic competitive bidding, the tender covers an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) package, land acquisition and development near the existing Anantapur Solar Project.

The proposed capacity is divided into two blocks. Block-I will have 900 MW, while Block-II will account for 300 MW. Bidders may submit proposals for either block or the combined 1,200 MW capacity, subject to the conditions set out in the tender documents.

The selected contractor will be responsible for delivering the projects on a comprehensive EPC basis. Its responsibilities will include identifying, acquiring and transferring ownership or lease rights for suitable, encumbrance-free land, including the area required for the proposed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The contractor will also undertake the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the solar PV plants.

The scope includes developing power evacuation infrastructure to connect the projects with the NTPC REL Anantapur project pooling station and the interstate transmission system substation. The contractor will further provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for three years from the date of commissioning.

Bid security requirements are set at Rs. 500 mn for Block-I, Rs. 200 mn for Block-II and Rs. 1 bn for bidders seeking the combined capacity. Bids submitted without acceptable security will be treated as non-responsive and rejected. NTPC REL issued the Invitation for Bids on October 29, 2026, with document downloads open until November 11 at 17:00 IST. The pre-bid conference is scheduled for November 13, while techno-commercial and price bids must be submitted by November 27 at 15:00 IST, with opening scheduled 30 minutes later.
