NTPC Renewable Energy Floats 900 MW Solar EPC Tender

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has invited bids for an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) package covering up to 900 MW of inter-state transmission system-connected, ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) projects near its Kurnool solar project in Andhra Pradesh. The package includes land acquisition and is being tendered through a single-stage, two-envelope process covering techno-commercial and price bids.

The selected developer will undertake the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation and commissioning of the solar PV projects. The scope also includes associated civil and structural works, along with identifying, acquiring and transferring encumbrance-free land for the solar plants and NTPC REL’s battery energy storage system (BESS) project.

The contractor will be responsible for constructing and commissioning a new 400 kV terminal line bay and dedicated 400 kV transmission lines, including securing the required right-of-way, to the Kurnool project pooling substation. The work further covers telemetry, grid-compliance systems such as dynamic reactive power compensation, performance testing, mandatory spares, and operation and maintenance of the solar plant and switchyard for three years after commissioning.

Under the technical eligibility requirements, bidders must have designed, supplied, erected and commissioned grid-connected solar PV plants with a cumulative installed capacity of at least 40 MWp. This must include at least one plant of 10 MWp or more that had been operational for at least six months before the bid opening. Financial eligibility requires an average annual turnover of at least Rs. 5.9 bn during the preceding three financial years and a net worth of at least 100 per cent of paid-up share capital at the end of the preceding financial year. Bidders must also submit bid security of Rs. 500 mn. The deadline for submissions is November 16, 2026.
