Oyster Renewable Lays Foundation Stone for Phase 2 Hybrid Project

Oyster Renewable Energy has laid the foundation stone for Phase 2 of its wind-solar hybrid power project in Agar Malwa, Madhya Pradesh. The project combines wind and solar generation with battery energy storage to support more reliable and consistent clean electricity supplies.

Mahendra Solanki, Member of Parliament from Dewas, laid the foundation stone in the presence of Madhu Gehlot, Member of the Legislative Assembly from Agar, and Siddharth Bhatia, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Oyster Renewable. Phase 2 follows the commissioning of the first phase and extends the company’s investment in hybrid renewable energy infrastructure.

The project is designed to operate for more than 30 years. It forms part of Oyster Renewable’s plan to establish approximately 800 MW of hybrid renewable energy capacity across Madhya Pradesh, supported by a planned investment exceeding Rs. 65 bn.

The wider development is expected to support more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, creating opportunities for local communities, suppliers, contractors and service providers. Once the planned capacity becomes operational, the projects are expected to generate more than 4.5 bn units of clean electricity annually.

The integration of wind, solar and battery storage is intended to improve supply consistency and serve the electricity requirements of commercial and industrial consumers. Oyster Renewable identified Madhya Pradesh as an important part of its growth strategy, which targets 3.5 GW of capacity, and said it would continue working with the state administration and local communities to advance its development plans.
