Rajesh Power Services Wins Rs. 4.72 bn Gujarat Distribution Order

Rajesh Power Services has secured turnkey contracts valued at Rs. 4.72 bn from Madhya Gujarat Vij Company (MGVCL) to strengthen electricity distribution infrastructure across Gujarat. The order, inclusive of taxes, will be executed over 18 months and takes the company’s aggregate order book to nearly Rs. 40 bn. It also adds more than 10 per cent to the order book in a single award.

The contracts cover the conversion of existing high-tension 11 kV overhead lines into medium-voltage covered conductor (MVCC) systems, along with the development of underground cable networks at various locations. The work is being undertaken under MGVCL’s SI Scheme Robust-3, which focuses on improving distribution infrastructure and network reliability.

The award expands Rajesh Power Services’ portfolio in the power transmission and distribution (T&D) segment. It provides the company with an additional base of secured projects and extends execution visibility over the next 18 months. The order also strengthens the company’s project pipeline as it continues to participate in power infrastructure opportunities.

The project forms part of the broader modernisation of electricity distribution networks in Gujarat. Covered conductors are intended to improve the resilience and safety of overhead distribution systems, while underground cabling will support network upgrades in selected locations. Rajesh Power Services will deploy its technical expertise, project management capabilities and operational resources to deliver the contracts in line with the agreed requirements.

The company’s chairman and managing director said the MGVCL award marked an important milestone and reinforced its business visibility. He said the company would remain focused on disciplined execution, operational efficiency, quality and safety while pursuing opportunities linked to India’s expanding power infrastructure requirements. With the order book approaching Rs. 40 bn, the company is positioned to execute a substantial pipeline of distribution projects across the state.

Cement Prices Likely to Rise Rs. 10-15 per Bag from Mid-October

Cement manufacturers in India are likely to raise prices by Rs. 10-15 per bag from mid-October, as they seek to offset persistent increases in power and fuel costs. Emkay Research said its channel checks indicated a high probability of an increase from October 12, supported by the start of the busy construction season and favourable demand-supply conditions. The sector had implemented similar rate adjustments of Rs. 10-15 per bag during the first quarter, but the increases were insufficient to cover higher operating costs. Prices also softened during July and August because of the monsoon, wid..
