Reliance To Build Rs 83 Billion AI Data Centre In Andhra Pradesh

Mukesh Ambani–led Reliance Industries on Friday announced a major new investment in Andhra Pradesh, signing an agreement with the state government to establish a 1 GW artificial intelligence (AI) data centre, one of the largest of its kind in Asia.

The new facility will operate as a twin to Reliance’s gigawatt-scale AI data centre in Jamnagar, forming one of the continent’s most powerful AI infrastructure networks.

Reliance said the modular, future-ready data centre will host cutting-edge GPUs, TPUs and advanced AI processors. The MoU was signed at the CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam in the presence of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Minister for IT and Industries Nara Lokesh and Reliance Industries Executive Director P. M. S. Prasad.

The company emphasised its mission to democratise artificial intelligence by delivering professional-grade AI tools through the MyJio platform to students, farmers, entrepreneurs and families.

To ensure clean energy for the AI infrastructure, Reliance will also develop a 6 GWp solar power project in Andhra Pradesh. The company reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to the state across its retail, Jio and oil and gas operations in Kakinada. Reliance has already invested more than USD 25 billion (around Rs 2.1 trillion) in Andhra Pradesh across digital services, retail and energy.

Reliance also announced a greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool, spread across 170 acres allotted by APIIC. Equipped with automated systems, the facility will produce beverages, packaged water, chocolates, snacks, atta and more, generating several thousand direct and indirect jobs.

Supporting the state’s green-growth agenda, the company will establish compressed biogas (CBG) hubs to promote natural farming, improve soil health and strengthen rural economies. Reliance commenced work on its first CBG plant in Prakasam earlier this year.

Chief Minister Naidu welcomed the investments, saying: “Andhra Pradesh is entering a new era of technology-led growth, sustainability and industrial resurgence. Reliance’s landmark investments will help make AP a global hub for AI innovation, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing.”

Prasad added: “Andhra Pradesh is rising with purpose and intent. Reliance is not just here to invest — we are here to build, empower and serve.”

Earlier, Minister Lokesh emphasised the state’s focus on faster project approvals, stating that regulatory reforms would ensure India remains attractive for global business.
