Swelect Commissions 3.125 MW Solar Plant in Tamil Nadu

Swelect Energy Systems has commissioned a 3.125 MW solar power plant in Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu, through its step-down wholly owned subsidiary, Swelect HHV Solar Photovoltaics. The project was commissioned on October 1, 2026, according to a disclosure made by the company to the stock exchanges.

The solar facility is located at V. Muthulingapuram Village in Virudhunagar district. It has been connected to the existing 33/11 kV Naranapuram TNEB Substation through a 33 kV interface, establishing the grid connection required for transferring electricity from the plant.

Electricity generated by the project will be used for captive consumption through Tamil Nadu’s Intra-State Open Access System. The arrangement allows the renewable power produced at the facility to be accounted for against the consumption requirements covered by the company’s captive power structure.

The commissioning adds a new operating asset to Swelect Energy Systems’ renewable power portfolio and gives the company access to generation from a plant located within Tamil Nadu. The project’s 3.125 MW capacity and connection at the 33 kV level were disclosed alongside the commissioning details.

The company disclosure did not provide details of the project’s capital cost, expected annual generation, equipment suppliers or the specific facilities that will consume the electricity. It also did not state whether additional solar projects are scheduled for commissioning. The available details identify the plant’s location, capacity, commissioning date, grid interface and intended use for captive consumption.

The project’s connection through the Naranapuram substation places the facility within Tamil Nadu’s intra-state electricity network. Its operations will therefore be linked to the state’s open access framework for captive power consumption, while the generated electricity will remain designated for the stated captive-use arrangement.
