Tata Power Gains Focus after Rs 4.55 Bn Solar Module Order Win

Tata Power shares are expected to be in focus after its step-down subsidiary, TP Solar, secured a Rs 4.55 billion contract from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MSPGCL) to supply 300 MWp of solar modules.

The modules will be delivered across Maharashtra within the year as part of MSPGCL's 750 MWp tender. The contract was awarded through a competitive e-Reverse Auction (eRA) process. TP Solar, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL), will supply ALMM-certified solar modules for the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0 project.

TP Solar operates India’s largest single-location solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. The plant has a capacity of 4.3 GW each for solar cells and modules, with provisions for future expansion.
