JSW subsidiary Shiva Cement to invest Rs.15 bn in new Odisha unit

Odisha-based Shiva Cement, a subsidiary of JSW Cement, plans to invest over Rs.15 bn in a new 1.36 mn tonne per annum clinker unit in Sundergarh district of the state. While Rs.11.50 bn of the capital expenditure will be funded via debt, JSW will invest Rs.1.50 bn through redeemable preference shares and the remaining through a rights issue. The clinker unit is expected to be commissioned by the end of the next financial year. The project includes setting up a 1 mtpa grinding unit, an 8 MW waste heat recovery power plant, and 4 mtpa crushing plants at its dolomite and limestone mines.
