India reduced its GDP emission intensity by 33 per cent between 2005 and 2019, achieving the target 11 years in advance, according to 'The Third National Communication to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change' report. Emission intensity of the economy is different from absolute emissions. In a momentous celebration, Mallcom India, the globally acclaimed safety gear brand and the Indian cricket team's historic 1983 World Cup victory both commemorate their 40th anniversary in 2023. The Chandipur factory's phase 2 expansion marked by a grand ceremony witnessed lighting of the electric lamp by cricket legend Kapil Dev and Ajay Mall, Managing Director, Mallcom. Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers' Association (IEEMA) inaugurated the 16th edition of the T&D Conclave in Delhi. At the conclave, Guest of Honour Ajay Mathur, Director General, International Solar Alliance, said, “Very conservatively, I expect transmission growth of approximately 5 per cent a year till 2050.” Hamza Arsiwala, President, IEEMA, said, “India is on the path of becoming the third largest economy with a focus on infrastructure and power is an integral part of which the most critical is the transmission and distribution (T&D) sector.”
