Bentley Systems celebrated accomplishments of women in infrastructure and technology, and their gritty stories inspired the next-gen women engineers. The Women in Infrastructure & Technology Conference was hosted in Mumbai by Bentley Systems. The conference celebrated the accomplishments of women in infrastructure and technology leadership roles. Women in leadership positions shared their gritty stories, while highlighting their contributions to the sector. It was indeed a platform to celebrate the achievements of women and raise awareness about discrimination. Although this goes without saying, but there is a need for more women in construction, engineering, and infrastructure today. As we move into a new era of work, there is a need to incentivise workers for their innovations. There is a gap in the number of women who enter the engineering workforce and then a gap in the number of women who stay in the engineering workforce. And hence, there is a huge task ahead. There is a need to encourage young women to consider a career in construction, and then to incentivise them to stay there. If more young women are encouraged to be involved, help companies to grow, give them room to lead, and improve the bottomline, they will be happier and will take the reins of the leadership. There is a need for the women in construction and technology sector to step out of their comfort zone and work with teammates to create what appears to be the impossible. Collaboration is more important today than it has ever been before. Although it might take time, but the transition is bound to happen, if the right steps are taken to make it happen. For now, there is a need to show them what is possible and inspire them to do something innovative with technology. The Bentley conference witnesses leaders from the corporations like Excelize Software, Tata Projects, L&T Technology Services, Microsoft, and Cyient who encouraged women to work in engineering by sharing their experiences and discussing the advantages of the field. They emphasised the value of initiatives for diversity, equity, and inclusion in a company and how, in the long run, one's work speaks for itself. There will be more development if women are given a vision of what they could achieve. With time, technology usage will increase, assisting businesses in being more productive. The number of women working in construction will rise both in India and globally, as more possibilities are created. In yet another round, discussion about the evolving position of women leaders in India took place. The discussion covered the distinctive viewpoints and abilities that women bring to leadership positions, how they have influenced India's efforts to achieve sustainable national development, and the steps to be taken to speed up the advancement of women in the workplace. The industry needs to show them what is possible in construction, and this will further inspire them. The IoT and AI are at the center of this digital transformation. There is a need to show these women how they can leverage technology in their own ways to improve the bottomline. And once they achieve it, they should be rewarded so that others are inspired.
