Nashik division of PWD executes construction works

The north division of the Public Works Department (PWD) of the Maharashtra government is undertaking construction of roads, bridges, hospital buildings and other civic infrastructure projects.

The division, which is headed by executive engineer Satish Chikhlikar, was allocated an annual sum of Rs 40 crore in 2012-13.

Among the various projects undertaken by the division are the construction of Kadwa bridge on Pimpalgaon-Dindori Road for Rs 4 crore, 16 km-section of Nashik-Peth-Dharampur road for Rs 3 crore, 15 km-section of Nashik-Dahanu for Rs 10 crore.

The division also set up a building of Surgana tehsildar office, besides undertaking construction works for tourism at Gangapur dam underway, rural hospitals at Girnare (Nashik taluka) and Barhe (Suragana taluka).

Nashik (North) division is responsible for works in Surgana, Trimbakeshwar, Dindorri and Peth talukas (all tribal regions). As the jurisdiction of the division is tribal, the most important work happens to be construction of roads, bridges and hospitals.
