The world’s highest motorable road at 18,600 ft in Ladakh is now operational as Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal inaugurated the road that links Leh to the Pangong Lake. The stretch is the world’s highest motorable way and is crossed by the Kela Pass at 18,600 ft. The road is developed by the Indian army’s 58 Engineer Regiment, reducing the journey to 41 km from Leh (Zingral to Tangtse) to the picturesque Pangong Lake passing the Kela Pass. The road would be a significant part in the future to increase the socio-economic status of the regional residents.
