Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has announced that ten cities around the state, including Gorakhpur, have been chosen for the Smart Cities Mission in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's inspiration. The Chief Minister launched 282 development projects totalling Rs.2.79 billion, and praised Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation and the city development authority for effective rainwater drainage demonstrated recently. Adityanath also announced that a cleaning campaign will be conducted in all wards.
