Harpreet Singh Wahan, General Manager-Sales & Marketing India, Enovation Controls,
shares Murphy by Enovation Controls’ expectations from and offerings at BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA 2016…

How is the current market scenario influencing your offering at BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA this year? Any new launches planned?

At Murphy, we believe the mining, construction and material handling equipment industry has a very positive outlook at the moment. In the previous year or so, we have seen considerable activity on the ground with regards to infrastructure growth, and this should result in improved sales for the equipment manufacturers as we move into 2017.

We are launching a drill management system, a weighing system (forklifts, stackers and wheel loaders) and the TEC-10 Panel at the expo.

The Drill Management System (DAS) will be a game changer in the industry, coming in with best-in-class features at OEM pricing. Drill equipment OEM’s will benefit greatly as they will not have to pay for a system designed primarily for the after-market. It also brings with it the advantages of total equipment management, where the drill engine, the compressor engine, the hydraulics and other functions of the drill are also managed.

The TEC-10 is an IP67-rated sealed panel for outdoor use in applications like compressors, pumps, marine (fishing trawlers, barges), drills and any rugged panel requirement. The TEC-10 is a fully-sealed unit that is ready to use in the harshest of conditions, and very importantly, eliminates a lot of hassle for the OEM.

Any specific investments (in rupees) made by the company towards product launches, up-gradation, etc, and if yes, how much?

Murphy has added 20 per cent application engineering capacity in India in 2016, and plans to add some more in 2017. Along with that, we are seriously looking at proceeding with a manufacturing activity in India for premium technology engine panels, specifically for marine and rugged applications.

In terms of generating business, what are your expectations from the event this year?

BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA has always provided a great platform for us to showcase our products, and most importantly, give a fist hand feel of them to our prospective customers. The products we are launching should create quite a buzz as a few of them are game-changers in the industry. I am sure this time around there will be fruitful interactions with our prospective customer-base at the expo.
