WOLFF cranes power ‘Seegut am Tegernsee’ build in Bavaria

On the southern shore of Lake Tegernsee in Bad Wiessee, one of Germany’s largest contemporary tourism schemes is taking shape: “Seegut am Tegernsee”, a roughly 35,000 m² ensemble of 25 low-rise buildings featuring a hotel, restaurant and cultural barn, all set over a 20,000 m² underground level. Contractor Pöttinger Bauunternehmung has turned to Wolffkran for heavy lifting across the multi-year build programme.
At project start, two WOLFF 8540.20 Cross saddle-jib cranes handled the heaviest pours and rebar packs, supported by material runs to the basement slab and utilities level. More recently, a new WOLFF 8038.20 Clear joined the fleet to sustain brisk progress across multiple fronts as superstructure work accelerates. One 8540.20 Cross—configured with an 80 m jib and 55.5 m hook height—has already completed its scope, been dismantled and sold to a new Wolffkran customer in Romania. The remaining 8540.20 Cross and the 8038.20 Clear—both rigged with 80 m jibs and 33 m hook heights—will continue operating side by side until 2026, supporting façade installation, timber-hybrid elements and fit-out logistics.
The Seegut is designed around ecological timber and timber-hybrid construction principles and will use thermal water from Lake Tegernsee for heating and cooling, positioning the scheme as a flagship for sustainable tourism in Germany. Wolffkran says its dependable lifting solutions, long outreach and optimised hook times are helping the team meet tight site logistics on a constrained lakeside plot. “It is rewarding to see that our cranes here are not just moving materials but are part of a project that will shape the region,” said Wolfgang Kavelius, Sales Manager at Wolffkran GmbH. “We are able to offer our customer a powerful and economical solution while helping to build a piece of the future.”
