Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project to boost domestic industries
According to Sriram Mahadevan, Business Head, Happinest, Mahindra Lifespace Developers, “The upcoming 508-km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project or bullet train is expected to be a mega developmental project. With 12 stations on routeincluding Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati – it will be a connectivity milestone. The project will especially usher in a new age of growth in outlying suburbs of Mumbai such as Boisar. It will spur the local economy and boost domestic industries via job creation. This in turn can boost demand for housing and other services. In addition, there will be increased development of social and lifestyle enhancing infrastructure and amenities.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe laid the foundation stone for the upcoming bullet train project connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad on September 14. A total of 12 stations have been proposed on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route that include Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati. The bullet train is also expected to drive other infrastructure developments in these cities.
