Noida: YEIDA to Acquire 5,000 hectare for Multiple Projects

YEIDA has begun the process of acquiring land in 10 new sectors across the Yamuna region to support various projects, including a fintech city and dedicated spaces for Japanese and Korean cities. Officials reported that a proposal to acquire over 3,500 hectares of land has been submitted to the GB Nagar district administration. Additionally, a letter was sent to the Aligarh administration, requesting the initiation of a social impact assessment (SIA) for more than 1,600 hectares of land earmarked for a logistics park and industrial development in the Tappal-Bajna Urban Centre.

Officials explained that the SIA, which evaluates the potential social effects on a community when land is acquired for development, will identify mitigation strategies and ensure fair compensation for affected farmers. The assessment will soon be conducted by Gautam Buddha University.

Currently, teams are being formed to conduct surveys in both districts, with work set to begin next week. An official from YEIDA shared that these projects are part of a larger plan to drive residential and industrial development in the region. The 10 new sectors identified for land acquisition include Sectors 4A, 5, 5A, 6, 7, 8, 8D, 9, 10, and 11.

According to the Authority’s plan, in Sector 5, 382 hectares will be acquired for residential plot schemes, while Sector 6 will be used for industrial plots spanning 348 hectares. Sectors 7 and 8 will feature multiple land-use plots, covering 283 hectares and 328 hectares, respectively. Sector 9 will be dedicated to institutional and recreational activities over 328 hectares.

Sector 10 will host an industrial park on 312 hectares, and Sector 11 is planned for the development of a fintech city over 315 hectares. Sector 8D is designated as another industrial plot scheme, covering 383 hectares. Additionally, two specialized zones will be developed: Sector 4A as a Korean City, spanning 365 hectares, and Sector 5A as a Japanese City, covering 395 hectares.

Apart from these sectors, land in Dorpuri Stharol (Aligarh) covering 178 hectares and 1,449 hectares in Tappal-Bajna (Aligarh) will also be acquired for logistics parks and industrial development, respectively.

YEIDA plans to acquire 2,000 hectares of land in Aligarh's Tappal village for logistics parks and other projects outlined in its master plan. Last year, the Authority issued a notification to acquire 736 hectares in Tappal, and the social impact assessment (SIA) process is currently underway.
