Radisson Hotel Group accelerates India growth with 21 hotels in 2023

The Radisson Hotel Group announced a significant acceleration of its expansion in India, finalising agreements for 21 hotels across nine different brands in 2023. This expansion encompasses the inauguration of the group's inaugural property in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh ? the Park Inn by Radisson Ayodhya. The decision to establish a presence in Ayodhya was spurred by the heightened national and international attention garnered following the consecration of the Ram Temple last month, as stated in the Radisson group's official release.

The Group, maintaining its pioneering position in India's key pilgrimage destinations, plans to introduce branded hotels in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, and Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, in the near future, according to the statement.

Globally, the Radisson Hotel Group augmented its international portfolio by adding over 30,000 keys.

In the Indian market, the Radisson Hotel Group stands as one of the foremost international hotel operators, boasting a presence with over 165 hotels currently in operation and development. It holds the title of the largest hotel operator in tier I markets such as Delhi NCR (national capital region), while over 50% of its portfolio resides in tier II and III markets, where it has capitalised on being an early entrant.

Elie Younes, the Radisson Hotel Group's Executive Vice President and Global Chief Development Officer, expressed their commitment to remaining adaptable and responsive to business stakeholders. He emphasised their dedication to deepening their footprint in the thriving Indian market, with a strong focus on further expansion. The Radisson Hotel Group operates in India under various brands, including Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Inn by Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn & Suites by Radisson, Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, and Radisson Individuals, along with its extension Radisson Individuals Retreats.

K B Kachru, Chairman Emeritus and Principal Advisor, Radisson Hotel Group, South Asia, concluded by stating that the milestones achieved in 2023 have set a robust growth trajectory for the group in 2024. The strategic vision involves expanding their roots and reinforcing their presence in untapped markets.
