64 Per Cent of Indian Firms Near AI Goals: Autodesk Report

Sixty-four per cent of Indian organisations are approaching or have achieved their current artificial intelligence (AI) goals, according to Autodesk’s fourth annual State of Design & Make report, released on 13 October 2026.
The report found that 88 per cent believe AI will enhance their industry, compared with 78 per cent in 2025. Meanwhile, 90 per cent expect it to make their industry more creative, up from 80 per cent.
AI adoption is extending into everyday operations, with 57 per cent integrating it into design workflows, including generative design, simulation and content creation. Another 44 per cent are implementing AI-driven automation, while 58 per cent are investing in AI training and development.
Haresh Khoobchandani, APAC & Japan VP, Autodesk, said: “India’s AI journey is entering a more practical phase.”
Digital transformation is also delivering business benefits. Improved productivity and increased innovation were each reported by 48 per cent of organisations, while 43 per cent cited better planning and decision-making and 42 per cent reported improved profitability.
Skills remain a challenge: 40 per cent cited insufficient knowledge or technical skills to implement digital solutions, while 36 per cent identified a shortage of trained workers.
Sustainability is increasingly linked to competitiveness, with 83 per cent saying their initiatives make their companies more competitive. Half have used AI to improve sustainability, 47 per cent have invested in energy-efficient processes or machinery, and 40 per cent have adopted circular practices involving recycled materials.
The findings also showed that 85 per cent believe future company growth will depend on digital tools, compared with 82 per cent in 2025.
