Vedanta inks pacts with 30 Japanese firms

Vedanta Group has announced that it has signed agreements with 30 Japanese technology firms to create an Indian semiconductor and glass display manufacturing ecosystem.

The agreements were signed last week in Tokyo, Japan, at the Vedanta-Avanstrate Business Partners Summit 2022. More than 200 delegates from over 100 global companies attended the summit.

The company is dedicated to making India a manufacturing hub for electronics. Akarsh K Hebbar, Vedanta Global MD, display and semiconductor business, stated that the company is focused on taking the lead in creating the electronics industry ecosystem rather than just technology transfers.

A slew of companies attended the summit, eager to be a part of India's semiconductor ecosystem. Vedanta, a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources, is one of the world's leading oil and gas and metals companies, with operations in India, South Africa, and Namibia in oil and gas, zinc, lead, silver, copper, iron ore, steel, and aluminium, and power.

DMR Engineering reported its half year results for the financial year ended 31 March 2026 and published full year figures on a standalone basis.
