Motherson Secures ECMS Incentives for Electronics Manufacturing

Motherson Electronic Components Private, a subsidiary of Samvardhana Motherson International, has recently secured government incentives under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). The approval, granted by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, covers the production of enclosures for the consumer electronics industry and reinforces the group’s commitment to strengthening domestic manufacturing under the Make in India initiative.
The incentives are applicable for a six-year period from FY26 to FY31 and are expected to support a cumulative investment of Rs 19 billion during this phase. As part of the programme, the company plans to generate over 5,000 employment opportunities at its manufacturing facility in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.
Motherson, a global design, engineering, manufacturing and assembly specialist, continues to play a key role in developing a resilient value chain across automotive, aerospace and consumer electronics segments. Its inclusion under the ECMS reflects strong operational capabilities and readiness to scale in high-value electronics manufacturing.
