PM Modi launches development projects in Manipur and Tripura

PM Narendra Modi has laid foundation stones in Manipur and Tripura for several development projects.

Modi inaugurated 13 projects worth around Rs 1,850 crore and laid the foundation stone for nine projects worth around Rs 2,950 crore in poll-bound Manipur. These projects span a variety of fields, including road infrastructure, drinking water supply, health, urban development, housing, information technology, skill development, and art and culture.

The construction of the steel bridge over the Barak River on NH-37, which costs over Rs 75 crore and will improve year-round connectivity to Silchar from Imphal and reduce traffic congestion, is another important infrastructure project.

The Prime Minister also dedicated 2,387 mobile towers built at a cost of around Rs 1,100 crore to the people of Manipur. Modi will also dedicate drinking water supply projects.

The completion of multiple projects under the Imphal Smart City Mission will be a step towards realising the Prime Minister's relentless efforts for the rejuvenation and transformation of Indian cities.

In Gurgaon, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the Manipur Institute of Performing Arts.

Modi also visited Tripura to inaugurate the Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport's New Integrated Terminal Building and launched two key initiatives—the Mukhyamantri Tripura Gram Samriddhi Yojana and Vidyajyoti Schools' Project Mission 100.

The Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport's New Integrated Terminal Building, which costs around Rs 450 crore to construct, is a state-of-the-art structure with modern facilities and is supported by the latest IT network-integrated system. Project Mission 100 of Vidyajyoti Schools aims to improve the state's educational quality by converting 100 existing high/higher secondary schools into Vidyajyoti Schools with state-of-the-art facilities and high-quality education.

The Mukhyamantri Tripura Gram Samriddhi Yojana aims to raise the bar for service delivery in key development areas at the village level.
