Ambuja Foundation bags award for women empowerment in WB

Ambuja Foundation, a leading rural non-profit organization dedicated to promoting gender equality and women's empowerment, has once again been awarded the 6th Indian Chamber of Commerce Social Impact Award 2024 for its outstanding contributions to advancing the rights and opportunities of women and girls in the Farakka and Sankrail regions of West Bengal. The organization won this prestigious award for the sixth time in a row while competing with 65 NGOs and CSR foundations.

Via their awards, the Indian Chamber of Commerce celebrates organizations that demonstrate exemplary commitment and innovative approaches towards achieving gender equality and empowering women in various spheres of life. The Social Impact Awards are an initiative of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), which engages with corporate entities, NGOs, and implementing agencies to recognize the exemplary work done in the fields of social investment, CSR, and sustainability on a pan-India basis.

Ambuja Foundation's Sankrail and Farakka teams won the Social Impact Jury Award as they have been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes, and creating inclusive environments where women and girls can thrive. Through its diverse programs and projects, the organization has made significant strides in areas such as education, healthcare, and economic empowerment for women and girls.

Commenting on the occasion, Ms Pearl Tiwari, CEO, of Ambuja Foundation, said, ?We are deeply honoured to once again receive this prestigious award, which serves as a testament to the dedication and hard work of our grassroots team, and the partners who support our work. We could never have done this scale of work if not for our leveraging many partners who trust our work and support it to scale. We believe that gender equality is not only a fundamental human right but also a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world. This recognition inspires us to double our efforts and continue working towards a future where every woman and girl can fulfil their potential and contribute fully to society.

The Honourable Governor of West Bengal, H.E. Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose graced the event, along with Dr. Andrew Fleming Dy. High Commissioner (British Deputy High Commission in Kolkata), Dr. Rajiv Singh, Director General ICC, and other dignitaries. Ambuja Foundation also received a letter of appreciation from the Governor of the WB Office.
