Atul Greentech and Amara Raja Join Forces on EV Battery Partnership

Atul Greentech Private Limited and Amara Raja Group have announced a strategic partnership to co-develop and supply Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery packs and chargers for electric three-wheelers, advancing India’s push towards self-reliant electric mobility. Signed in Ahmedabad, the agreement outlines that battery packs for Atul Greentech’s EVs will be produced at Amara Raja’s Giga Corridor facility in Divitipalli, Telangana. The partnership includes future plans to manufacture advanced battery cells, supporting the Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative.

The tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) involves: – Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies (subsidiary of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility) – Atul Greentech Private Limited – Amara Raja Power Systems Limited

Vijay Kedia, Director of Atul Auto Limited, called the collaboration “a key step in strengthening India’s EV transition.” Vijayanand Samudrala, President of New Energy at Amara Raja, emphasised the need for a domestic ecosystem of cells, packs, and R&D. The partnership arrives amid India's ambitious EV targets—30 per cent sales penetration for private cars, 70 per cent for commercial vehicles, and 80 per cent for two and three-wheelers by 2030. The country’s EV market is expected to grow over 40 per cent CAGR through the end of the decade.
